Foothills Nature Preserve is located in Los Altos Hills with panoramic San Francisco Bay Area views. The site includes a variety of trails, ranging from easy to challenging, some with shade. Parking is $6 per vehicle. Facilities include bathrooms, a campsite, picnic areas, and an educational center. Orchard Glen Picnic Area serves as a common gathering point.
The preserve encompasses 15 miles of trails, including the Panorama Trail, which provides a balance of sunlight and shade. Wildlife such as deer, foxes, and turkeys can be observed along the trails. Fishing is permitted, and row boat rentals are available at Boronda Lake when park employees are present.
Open until 9 pm, visitors can stay for sunset. Proximity to highways offers convenient access. Crowds are typically sparse in the evening hours.
