Stanford Mausoleum

Stanford Mausoleum, situated in Palo Alto, California, is the burial site of Leland Stanford, his wife Jane, and their son – and university namesake – Leland Jr. The mausoleum is set within a forested area on the Stanford University campus and features Egyptian-inspired sculptures. Detailed pharaoh sculptures distinguish the structure's front. The mausoleum is closed to public entry, but its exterior is accessible. Close by stands a bronze sculpture of the Stanford family and a weeping angel sculpture. The Arizona Cactus Garden, adjacent to the mausoleum, showcases a diverse collection of succulents and cacti. The surrounding area accommodates running, biking, and walking. Leashed dogs are allowed. The location is within walking distance of the Cantor Art Museum and the Bing Performing Arts Center.
